In 1989 while preparing to graduate from St John University in Collegeville with a degree in psychology I was forced to take an additional course in order to receive full financial aid. This angered me greatly so I decided to take the easiest class I could find—Ceramics 101. Under the guidance of Sister Denis Frandrup I fell in love with clay and spent the better part of that year in the studio learning all I could. This also was the beginning of a life view which has only grown stronger; the conscious acknowledgement that looking for silver linings not only makes our days more fulfilling it often allows us to surpass our wildest expectations.

Live as if you have all the time in the world: no hurry, like you'll never die - also live with the passion like you know you'll die tomorrow (paraphrase from)
